Heading north across the Golden Gate bridge.

My good friend Jan, the Author, who lives in Marin county north of the Golden Gate.

This is Jan answering a literary question during a book tour in Juneau last year.

An old bridge through Redwood forests on the northern coast a hundred miles or so from the Oregon border.

Sea gulls sitting out the fog and rain near Astoria, Oregon.  Rain has been heavy all along the Oregon coast.  My California sunshine luck ran out when I crossed the Oregon border.

About to cross the Columbia River into Washington state.  The bridge is almost invisible in the fog and rain.
